Charlie Nicholas has named Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in his Premier League team of the season.
Sky Sports pundit Nicholas has selected his team after the opening 10 games of the season and used players from 10 different teams, with Arsenal duo Hector Bellerin and Mesut Ozil the only exception.
Spurs are currently fifth-placed in the Premier League and just three points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.
The north London club are the only unbeaten side in the division and Lloris has been a huge part of their success.
The Frenchman has helped Spurs boast the best defensive record in the league, with just five goals conceded so far this campaign.
Nicholas has named Spurs’ number one in his team and was full of praise for the 29-year-old.
“Tottenham have the best defensive record and, while I know he missed a few games, he’s been top qualify whenever called upon,” Nicholas wrote on Sky Sports. “There are lots of times when he’s quiet for long periods then he makes important saves.”
Lloris has made 178 appearances for Spurs in all competitions and kept an impressive 63 clean sheets.
Their goalkeeper has played in eight of the 10 league games this season and missed a couple of matches through injury, but his understudy Michel Vorm provided a strong back-up.
He has established himself as the club’s number one option since he moved to White Hart Lane in 2012 from Lyon and is also the first-choice option for his nation France.
In the latest Tottenham news, Eric Dier has set the club a target in the Champions League.
