Charlie Nicholas has predicted Leads to beat Norwich 2-1 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening and identified striker Chris Wood as the danger man.

Sky Sports pundit Nicholas has backed Garry Monk’s side to keep their run going against a strong Alex Neil team at Elland Road.

The two teams are currently separated by six places in the league with Norwich in fourth place on 27 points and Leeds in 10th on 20.

They haven’t met each other in the league yet, but ex-Arsenal man Nicholas has predicted a victory for the Yorkshire giants, saying “there’s something about Chris Wood.”

“Leeds are starting to pick up under Garry Monk and they’ll be hoping to have a good crowd at Elland Road with the opportunity they’ve got, having struggled to do much in this competition for a good few years,” Nicholas wrote in his Sky Sports column.

“Norwich have got more quality, there’s no doubt about that, and the likes of Robbie Brady and Steven Naismith should really be excelling at this level.

“I just feel like it’s starting to grow for Leeds and there’s something about Chris Wood and the way he troubles defences that makes me think they can keep the run going.”

Leeds beat Wolves 1-0 on Saturday and they will be keen to get a winning run going with the team currently sat three points away from the play-offs.

A win in the cup will raise morale for the players at the club and they will be looking to go into Saturday’s match against Burton with a victory.

Meanwhile, Norwich have struggled in their last two fixtures losing 1-0 against Preston and drawing 2-2 with Fulham meaning it could be the perfect time to play last season’s Premier League side.

In other Leeds news, Norwich manager Alex Neil believes that Garry Monk has improved the club since taking charge.
