Matt Le Tissier believes that Tottenham will finish fifth-placed in the Premier League this season.
Spurs are currently the only unbeaten side in the division, but have drawn three consecutive league games since the 2-0 victory against Manchester City.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been without the injured Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld during that spell and are without a win in five games across all competitions.
The north London club are only thee points behind league leaders Man City and the title race is setting up to be intriguing.
Sky pundit Le Tisser believes Man City will win the league with Liverpool and Chelsea finishing behind them, but feels Arsenal and Tottenham will struggle with balancing their European campaigns.
“Liverpool and Chelsea’s lack of European football gives them a real edge, especially with Arsenal and Tottenham in the Champions League,” Le Tissier said, as quoted by Sky Sports’ website. “When it’s so tight in there you look at small differences and I think that could be it.
Spurs host German side Bayer Leverkusen at Wembley on Wednesday in the Champions League and are involved in a difficult group to secure their place in the knockout rounds.
Pochettino’s side then face bitter rivals Arsenal on Sunday and their talisman Kane could return from injury.
Spurs are undefeated in their three matches following their European outings and have shown the strength of the squad in the season so far.
The north London club mounted a serious title challenge last season and eventually fell away in the latter stages, with Leicester going on to lift an unlikely first Premier League trophy.
In other Tottenham news, Rio Ferdinand has delivered his verdict on the club’s summer signings.
