Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas has updated his Premier League top four prediction seven fixtures into the new campaign after making a prediction before the season started, which has seen a change for Tottenham.

The former Arsenal man originally had Spurs placed outside of the top four with Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool making up the top spots.

However, following the north London side’s unbeaten start and 2-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday he has placed Tottenham in fourth, taking Manchester United’s position.

“I’ve changed my mind on Spurs, who do look like a top-four side,” wrote Nicholas in his column for Sky Sports. “Reassessing the situation now, I would probably go Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs in fourth.”

“Mauricio Pochettino’s side have crashed the idea Man City were marching to the title. Every system is vulnerable and Tottenham showed you can still play on the front foot against Guardiola’s team.”

Tottenham are currently sat in second place in the Premier League table and one point behind Pep Guardiola’s league leaders following the weekend win.

They are looking to improve on last season’s third place finish, while also competing against Europe’s elite in the Champions League.

The north London club are currently placed in second in their group and sit a point behind Monaco after losing to the French club, while beating CSKA Moscow.

In other Tottenham news, Martin Keown believes that Spurs aren’t strong enough in the central forward area without star man Harry Kane.
