Tottenham defenders Kyle Walker and Jan Vertonghen have both been included in Sky Sports’ Power Rankings team of the season.

Sky Sports have released their team of the season so far according to their Power Ranking system, which assesses players’ performances across 32 different matchday stats.

The Spurs pair are named in defence alongside Arsenal duo Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech, with Liverpool’s James Milner also included after being converted into a left-back this season.

Current Premier League leaders Liverpool have Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino also included the side.

Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Diego Costa complete the team alongside Manchester City’s midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

Spurs have the best defensive record in the Premier League and stats prove that Walker and Verotnghen have been crucial to their success.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are the only unbeaten team in the division and have conceded just six goals in the opening 11 league games.

Walker, 26, has featured in all of Spurs’ league matches this season and is regarded as the first-choice right-back ahead of Kieran Trippier.

Belgian defender Vertonghen has played every minute of the league campaign and has partnered both Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier in defence.

The 29-year-old has established himself as a regular centre-back for the north London club and made 177 appearances since his arrival from Ajax in 2012.

In other Tottenham news, Christian Eriksen has explained the club’s recent form and highlighted the main problem.
