Dean Saunders claims that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is doing a brilliant job and can take the club to the top of the Premier League.

The Reds completed a narrow 1-0 victory over their Merseyside rivals Everton on Monday night and moved up to second in the Premier League.

Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane scored a late winner in stoppage time and the result means they are six points behind league leaders Chelsea.

Saunders hailed the victory against Everton and believes that Klopp is currently working out the Premier League.

“It’s a great win – a much-needed win – and it gives Jurgen Klopp more time to assess what he needs to get right to the top,” Saunders said, as quoted by Sky Sports. “The longer it goes on, he’ll work it out. He’s doing brilliantly.”

Liverpool boss Klopp has become a huge favourite with the club’s supporters and his passion can be seen across the entire squad.

The 49-year-old has enjoyed great success with German club Borussia Dortmund and is now hoping to return Liverpool to the top.

The Reds have never won a Premier League title and have a great opportunity to end that record this season, with no distraction of European football.

Liverpool did lost two cup finals last season under Klopp, with a Europa League defeat to Sevilla and a penalty shoot out loss to Manchester City in the League Cup.

The Merseyside club are currently the Premier League’s top scorers and have scored 41 goals in the opening 17 games, something they will hope can fire them to the title.
