Alan Mclnally has expressed his disappointment at the performances of Tottenham duo Christian Eriksen and Moussa Dembele this season.

Former Celtic and Aston Villa striker Mclnally provided a ‘half-term report’ on Mauricio Pochettino’s men, and only gave them a disappointing C grade.

Spurs are the only unbeaten team in the league this season, with their most impressive win coming against league leaders Manchester City in early October.

However, Sky Sports pundit Mclnally picked out midfield duo Christian Eriksen and Moussa Dembele as two of the underperformers for the north London club.

“I’m going to go as low as ‘C’  for Tottenham because I thought this would be a big season for Spurs and I think they’ve struggled a little,” Mclnally wrote in his Sky Sports column.

“There’s no question the injury to Harry Kane has been a problem and they’ve struggled in front of goal a little more.

“They’ve got one of my favourite players in Christian Eriksen who I adore but I know he’s got more in the locker, as has Moussa Dembele.

“I expect them to be back in the top four this year. But at this moment in time I expect more from them – and I’m sure the Spurs fans do as well.”

Denmark international Eriksen has made 12 Premier League, Champions League and EFL Cup appearances this season, scoring two goals and supplying three assists.

By contrast Belgium international Dembele has been restricted to five games this term, due to injuries or suspension.

In other Tottenham team news, Martin Keown has stated why this Spurs attacker didn’t deserve a Ballon d’Or nomination.
