Charlie Nicholas has predicted Tottenham to draw when they face Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night, but feels that they can get at their defence in the clash.
Spurs welcome the Bundesliga side to Wembley for their first group stage match of this seasons Champions League campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino is without the suspended Dele Alli for the mid-week game, but his side should be confident after a big 3-0 away win against Everton on Saturday.
The North London club will be keen to pick up a win at their temporary home ground Wembley, something they have not done there in the two fixtures against Chelsea and Burnley this season.
Sky Sports pundit Nicholas has tipped Spurs to draw 2-2 against the German opposition on Wednesday, but does expect striker Harry Kane to find some great joy against the Dortmund back-line.
He feels that the defence is vulnerable and that it’s a weak area of the Bundesliga giants.
“Tottenham were very good at the weekend but it’s back to Wembley, which also provides them with the chance to make the leap that they need,” Nicholas wrote in his column for Sky Sports. “Dortmund are a very difficult side to face with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up front and a strong midfield, but you can get at their defence so there should be some joy for Harry Kane.
“However, I can see there being more struggles for Spurs and I think they might well have to come from behind to get something from this game.”
Spurs know their home form will be imperative if they want to be successful in Europe and they commence their group stage with a pivotal game.
They also have Cypriot side Apoel Nicosia and European heavyweights Real Madrid in their group, with the latter expected to progress as table toppers.
In other Tottenham news, the club’s supporters have demanded Pochettino drops their defensive mainstay agains Dortmund.
