Ian Holloway has told Jack Grealish to “sort his life out” after the Aston Villa midfielder was embroiled in another off the field controversy.

The Mail Online claimed on Tuesday morning that the 20-year-old infuriated guests at a Birmingham hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning following his club’s 0-0 draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Sky Sports pundit Holloway has backed club manager Roberto Di Matteo to deal with the situation, but slammed the mindset of young footballers today.

“Jack Grealish needs to sort his life out,” Holloway wrote in his Sky Sports column. “There’s no use having talent if you’re not going be committed to your craft. Roberto Di Matteo is the perfect man to deal with him, but you can’t make someone listen, he has to want to listen.

“However, the problem is that some of these young kids get too much too soon and they’re not taught to listen. The power has gone the wrong way, it’s skewed far too much in the favour of the players. ”

Grealish has been one of manager Di Matteo’s top performers in the Championship this term scoring two goals and providing one assist in seven games.

It was confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account on Thursday morning that the club will hold an investigation into the Grealish claims.

In the meantime, the England under-21 international will prepare for the visit of Rafa Benitez’ high-flying Newcastle in an eagerly anticipated showdown at Villa Park on Saturday evening.

In other Aston Villa team news, McCormack, Perez and Clark axed in combined Villa and Newcastle starting XI.
