Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd has hailed Christian Eriksen for his excellent performance for Tottenham in the 3-0 victory over Hull.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder finished the match with two goals, while also striking the crossbar from a free kick, which was duly converted by Victor Wanyama on the rebound.

The Denmark international has come under some criticism this season with just five goals and four assists in 21 appearances before last night.

However, his man-of-the-match display against the Tigers caught the eye of many and Boyd, who was at the game was full of praise for the Spurs attacker.

“Everything going forward went through him,” started Boyd speaking on Sky Sports News’ Premier League Daily show on Thursday.

“He’s the one that tries to link the midfield to Harry Kane, but Harry Kane also does a lot of his work outside of the box in terms of running down the channels.

“Eriksen was the one from the midfield that would get beyond, while Dele Alli, who was replaced at the start of the second half was a bit quieter.

“Christian Eriksen was a threat all night and he was unlucky not to have a hat-trick, as we’ve seen the free kick came back off the bar as well, but he was excellent from start to finish all night.”

Eriksen has been at White Hart Lane for three years after making an £11million switch from Eredivisie outfit Ajax in 2013.

He has established himself as a star of the team, playing in 153 encounters with a return of 37 goals and 37 assists.

He was also awarded a new four-year contract earlier in September despite his poor form with Spurs eager to keep hold of the attacking ace.

The Danish midfield star will now be keen to push on in the campaign with a clash against 13th placed Burnley coming up next.
