Slaven Bilic has revealed that defender Aaron Cresswell and forward Andy Carroll are expected to return after the international break.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Hammers tie against Southampton on Sunday, the West Ham manager revealed that the star duo should be available for the clash against Crystal Palace on 15th October.

The press conference was quoted on the club’s official Twitter account with Bilic revealing when the duo will be available.

The Croatian also denied a report this week that injury-prone Carroll had suffered a setback in his recovery.

Cresswell, 26, damaged ligaments in a pre-season clash in the summer and he hasn’t featured for the east London club in the new campaign.

Meanwhile, Carroll, 27, suffered a knee injury in a clash against Romanian side Astra Giurgiu after featuring in three encounters beforehand.

The Hammers have severely missed the senior pair after finishing seventh in the last campaign, earning a spot in the Europa League qualification stages.

However, without Cresswell and Carroll they have been knocked out of Europe and have been left dwindling in 18th position after five league games with one win and four losses.

They will be keen to push on from their win against Accrington in midweek, but Southampton will provide a stern test after winning their last three matches in all competitions.

In other West Ham team news, Bilic has revealed that full-back Arthur Masuaku will face at least six weeks out injured after damaging ligaments.
