Heung-Min Son revealed that Tottenham’s competitive squad will only help him fight for his position.

Spurs have made a strong start to the new season and are the only unbeaten side in the Premier League.

The north London club are also well-placed in their Champions League group after a 0-0 away draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday night, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side currently second.

Son, 24, has played a major role in Spurs’ recent form and has cemented his place in the starting XI.

The midfielder has made eight appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and supplying two assists.

The South Korean international has explained that he will continue to fight for his position and the high quality squad will help.

“Our squad is unbelievable, we have so many good players I think that we make each other better,” Son told BT Sport. “Some days I sit on the bench but whoever plays for me I will push them, but we are one team and everyone is happy if we win and get three points.”

Son arrived at White Hart Lane in 2015 and struggled to land a starting role in his first season, with Erik Lamela, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen the preferred attackers.

Pochettino handed the winger his first game of the new campaign against Stoke and he netted a fantastic brace to start his recent form.
