Aston Villa picked up a valuable point in the local derby with Birmingham on Sunday afternoon, but fan and pundit Stan Collymore was not happy with their second half performance on Twitter.

Gary Gardner scored his first ever goal for the club with a fantastic looping header to give Villa the lead in the first half.

Birmingham took charge in the second half though and equalised in the 71st minute with a fine strike from midfielder David Davis.

Collymore took to Twitter as soon as the match was over to say that although he’d settle for the point, the second-half performance from his team had been “garbage”.

He picked out Villa players Ross McCormack, Jonathan Kodjia and Jordan Ayew for criticism in the post on his personal Twitter account.

Collymore risked the ire of Villa fans by following up his tweet with another post praising Birmingham manager Gary Rowett.

The result moves Aston Villa up to 15th place in the Championship as Steve Bruce’s team jump ahead of Ipswich in their push for a play-off place.

It means that Steve Bruce is still undefeated after four games in charge of Villa, with two wins and two draws on his record.

In other Aston Villa news, this senior man has joked that the only team Steve Bruce would leave Villa for is Real Madrid.
