Jack Grealish should make a return to the Aston Villa starting XI to face Barnsley on Tuesday night.

The 21-year-old midfielder missed his side’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Saturday due to a club suspension following his alleged all-night party the previous weekend.

Roberto Di Matteo should make two changes to his previous league encounter with Grealish and Aaron Tshibola coming in for Nathan Baker and Ashley Westwood.

The Italian must revert to a 4-2-3-1 formation in a tricky away fixture, after starting the last game with a 3-5-2 formation, before changing it to 4-3-3 in the second-half.

Midfielder Tshibola produced a commanding second-half display against the Magpies and helped rescue a draw for Villa by nodding in his first goal for the club in the 88th minute.

The 21-year-old would bring more energy and positivity to the line-up by replacing Westwood.

Versatile attacker Grealish must be the focal point of Villa’s attack and play in behind all-round forward Jonathan Kodjia.

Additionally, Jordan Ayew needs to continue on the left after his impressive second-half display against Newcastle, with Albert Adomah causing problems with his quick feet on the right.

After scoring an own goal in his previous league game, captain Tommy Elphick must start at the back and help lead his side to their first win since August.
