Steve Bruce has confirmed Mile Jedinak will miss Aston Villa’s clash against Brighton after the international break.
Midfielder Jedinak will take to the field with Australia on November 15 in Thailand, three days before the Midlands side take on the Seagulls.
The 32-year-old Australian has started in all five of Bruce’s games since taking over, including an impressive display in the 2-1 win over Blackburn on Saturday at Villa Park.
Promotion expert Bruce has revealed that he has no other choice but to leave out the experienced campaigner for the Friday night clash on November 18.
“Jedinak won’t play, he plays on the Tuesday in Thailand – so how can I expect to make him play on the Friday?” said Bruce, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail. “It makes the game just that bit harder, Brighton are a good team who’ve made a wonderful start.”
Former Premier League player Jedinak joined Villa from Crystal Palace in the summer after he was signed by former boss Roberto Di Matteo.
He has made ten Championship appearances this term where he has provided two assists, including the winning goal for Jonathan Kodjia at the weekend.
In other Aston Villa team news, Steve Bruce’s side have received a big blow as this key figure has picked up a foot injury during the Blackburn game.
