Stoke are in advanced talks to sign Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula in a club-record deal, Football Insider sources understand.
The Premier League club have tabled a £15million bid for the midfield anchorman as they work against the clock to land him before the 11pm transfer deadline.
Stoke remain in negotiations with Porto and Imbula is on standby to undergo a medical at the club on Monday.
Manager Mark Hughes wants to strengthen the Premier League club’s central midfield as they aim for a top-ten finish.
Imbula joined Porto from Marseille last summer for £14million but has been on the fringes of the team this season.
