Vincent Janssen left Holland on Sunday to fly to London and seal an £18.8million transfer to Tottenham, according to a report.

Dutch publication De Telegraaf claim that the 22-year-old striker was spotted at the airport with his advisors Patrick van Diemen and Louis Laros.

It is said he will undergo a Spurs medical and put the finishing touches to his move from AZ Alkmaar to Spurs before being unveiled on Monday.

Football Insider revealed on Thursday that the Holland international was set to be given the green light to fly to London and finalise what will be Spurs’ second deal of the summer window.

Spurs have agreed to meet AZ’s £18.8m asking price, which will smash the Dutch outfit’s transfer record.

The north Londoners lodged their latest bid for Janssen on Monday to meet the new asking price of AZ and Janssen has been given permission to complete the transfer to White Hart Line.

The impending arrival of the 22-year-old will be a huge boost to manager Mauricio Pochettino after the club lost out of to Chelsea in their pursuit of Michy Batshuayi, with the striker completing a £33million transfer on Sunday.

Janssen will cost half of Batshuayi but was the top scorer in the Dutch League this season with a virtual goal-a-game haul of 27 goals in 34 games. In all competitions, he struck 32 times in 49 matches.

Tottenham have seen off late interest in Janssen from Paris Saint-Germain to land the forward after tabling a series of bids in recent weeks.

AZ are targeting two strikers to replace the Dutchman, Wout Weghorst from Heracles and Fred Friday from Norwegian outfit Lillestrom.

Pochettino is keen to beef up the Spurs attack after Kane led the front line virtually singlehandedly in the recently completed domestic campaign.

In other Tottenham transfer news, the club have twice met with the father of one of the Bundesliga’s outstanding players in recent weeks.
