Erik Sviatchenko hailed a “top performance” on Sunday as Celtic booked their place in the Scottish League Cup final.
Celtic earned a narrow 1-0 win against Old Firm rivals Rangers in the semi-final, meaning they will face Aberdeen for the silverware.
Forward Moussa Dembele grabbed the winning goal in the 87th minute, after smartly flicking home a cross from Leigh Griffiths.
The Bhoys have now won both encounters with Rangers this season, after comprehensively recording a 5-1 victory in the league meeting.
Sviatchenko, 25, expressed his delight following the result and praised the entire squad.
“Boom… in the final. Top performance from all in the squad and fans, Another clean sheet too,” Sviatchenko wrote on his personal Twitter account.
Sviatchenko played the full 90 minutes against Rangers and partnered Jozo Simunovic in defence, with the experienced Kolo Toure restricted to the bench.
The centre-back has been an important figure in Celtic’s campaign so far and made 14 appearances in all competitions, keeping five clean sheets in the process.
He moved to the Scottish champions in January this year and helped lift the league title last season.
Sviatchenko has made five international appearances for Denmark and was included his nation’s recent squad during the international break.
In other Celtic news, Dembele has given his verdict following his winning goal against Rangers.
