TalkSport have ranked Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris as the second best goalkeeper in the Premier League.

The popular radio station has listed 20 goalkeepers in the division in order of ability, with the current number one from each team.

Lloris, 29, finished second on the list and was behind Manchester United shot stopper David De Gea.

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech finished third on the list, but there was no place for Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois in the top five, finishing sixth.

Spurs number one Lloris have been in good form this season and continues to impress for both club and country.

The French international was voted just behind United’s De Gea, who has been heavily linked with Real Madrid in the past.

“While Harry Kane’s goals have so often been vital at one end, Lloris has come to the club’s rescue on many occasions at the other,” wrote the station on their website.”His distribution and passing may not always be great, but his shot stopping is fantastic.”

Lloris has been a crucial figure at Spurs since arriving from Lyon in 2012 and took over the captaincy from Younes Kaboul.

He has made 178 appearances for Spurs in all competitions and kept an impressive 63 clean sheets.

Spurs currently boast the best defensive record in the league, conceding just four goal from their opening nine games.

Lloris has played in seven of those games and missed a couple of league matches through injury, but his understudy Michel Vorm provided a strong back-up.
