Jamie Redknapp has described Harry Arter’s midfield display for Bournemouth on Saturday as the best he has seen in the Premier League this season.

Arter delivered an all-action performance in central midfield as Eddie Howe’s side held in-form Tottenham to a 0-0 draw at the Vitality Stadium.

It was the second consecutive stalemate for Spurs after their goalless draw against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Arter, 26, epitomised the high pressing style of Bournemouth, who followed up their 6-1 demolition of Hull last Saturday with an  equally impressive display.

“I thought he was magnificent today, it was an old school midfield performance,” Redknapp told Sky Sport 1’s live coverage of the match immediately afterwards. “It’s probably the best midfield performance I’ve seen all season in the Premier League.

“He was all action. He was at Woking a few years ago playing in the non league. It shows you they are out there if you give them enough opportunities.

“It wasn’t just the tackles, it was the passing, it was the energy that he showed. He was the player that epitomised how Bournemouth played today. Everything about his game was sensational.”

Arter has started all nine league games for a Bournemouth side this season who have climbed to ninth in the table on the back of Saturday’s draw.

Spurs remain in third position ahead of the rest of the weekend fixtures and are the only unbeaten side in the English top flight.
