Tottenham will unleash the next generation of stars in their League Cup showdown against Liverpool on Tuesday night, according to a report.
ESPN FC claim rookie quartet Harry Winks, Joshua Onomah, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Georges Kevin-Nkoudou are all in line to start for Spurs at Anfield due to the team’s hectic fixture schedule.
Both clubs are expected to play weakened line-ups for the fourth-round clash at Anfield, with Pochettino confirming on Monday that skipper Hugo Lloris will be among the first-team regulars rested.
Spurs, who are managing the triple demands of Premier League, Champions League and League Cup fixtures, fielded a team filled with fringe and academy players for their third-round 5-0 demolition of Gillingham last month.
Winks, 20, and Carter-Vickers, 18, made their full debuts, summer signing N’Koudou, 21, made his first appearance for the club and Onomah, 19, was handed only his fifth start.
Liverpool are also in line to pick a weakened team, with academy products Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ojie Ajaria set to be named in the starting XI.
But the early team news filtering from Anfield on Tuesday afternoon was that Klopp will pad out the 18-man matchday squad with first-team regulars to guide the youngsters.
Liverpool currently sit third in the Premier League table, a point and two places better off than Tottenham.
In other Tottenham news, Pochettino has revealed a Spurs playmaker will be sidelined until nearly Christmas.
