Thierry Henry believes that Alexis Sanchez could fire Arsenal to the Premier League title.

The Gunners have not won the English domestic league since the 2003/04 season, when they completed the remarkable ‘Invincibles’ of going unbeaten all campaign.

Arsenal have begun the new season in good form and are currently level on points with league leaders Manchester City.

Sanchez, 27, has been a crucial part of the club’s early success and played in all eight league matches this season.

The attacker has scored four goals and supplied four assists in the league, with the Chilean international being deployed as both a central striker and out wide.

Arsenal legend Henry confessed that Sanchez must be on top form if his former side are to challenge for the title.

“You need that guy (Sanchez) to be on point for Arsenal to win the league,” Henry said, as quoted by the Evening Standard. “The way he likes to share the ball, his work ethic, he will give you an assist as well.

“You need guys who are willing to help him and at the moment you have that. You need that ‘plus guy’ and Alexis Sanchez – he is that ‘plus guy’.”

Sanchez has become a fan favourite at the club since he moved to the Emirates in 2014 from Barcelona.

He has now made 103 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 47 goals and supplying 29 assists   in the process.
