Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey will be involved in the club’s pre-season tour of Scandinavia.

The Gunners will head to Norway and Sweden on Thursday to take on the Vikings and Premier League rivals Manchester City with the two star players on board.

But, Wenger revealed that three players who reached the latter stages of Euro 2016 – Mesut Ozil, Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud – will not be involved.

“Not all of [the international players will be back],” Wenger told the official Arsenal club website. “But Ramsey will be involved, Sanchez will be involved.

“The latest players coming back will not be involved, that’s Ozil, Giroud and Koscielny, they are the last ones and I don’t think they will be involved on the tour on Thursday, but all the others will.”

Sanchez is recovering  from an ankle injury he suffered during his home country’s Copa America triumph in June.

Meanwhile, Ramsey has returned to the squad after Wales reached the semi-finals of the recently concluded European Championships.

The news will be a relief to Arsenal supporters as they head into the opening Premier League campaign on August 14 against Liverpool with doubts over the availability of a number of players.

The Gunners support will be hoping their manager can land a new defender before the Premier League season kicks off.

As thing stand experienced centre-back Per Mertesacker is facing five-months out, while French international Koscielny is facing a battle to be match fit in time for the curtain-raiser.

This will leave the north London club without a senior centre-back as Wenger is close to agreeing a move for Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi for a fee reported to be in the region of £20-30 million.

In other Arsenal team news, this midfielder ace is set to miss more games after picking up another injury.
