Rafael Benitez could hand three players their Newcastle debut in Tuesday’s Championship clash with QPR.
Summer signings Achraf Lazaar, Christian Atsu and Daryl Murphy are all in contention to play and will travel with the squad to Loftus Road.
Newcastle manager Benitez has claimed that the trio could feature against QPR but he is yet to make his mind up on the starting line-up.
Asked about the three players, who joined at the end of the summer window, Benitez told the Chronicle: “They will travel and then we will decide. When players travel they can play but it is too early to decide now.”
Defender Lazaar, an unused substitute in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Derby, moved to St James’ Park from Italian side Palermo and is set to rival current left-back Paul Dummett for a starting spot.
Newcastle are blessed with several options in midfielder and Chelsea loanee Atsu provides some blistering pace to the squad.
The attacker is set to challenge team-mates Matt Ritchie, Mohamed Diame and Yoan Gouffran in the team and could get his opportunity against QPR.
Murphy is the other uncapped Newcastle player and joined from Ipswich with an impressive goal record.
The striker scored 67 goals in 225 appearances at Portman Road and will give Benitez another dimension alongside Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Newcastle are currently on a four-game winning streak in the league which has seen them rise to second in the Championship table.
In other Newcastle team news, Benitez has hailed the quality of Gouffran after his recent form.
