Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to back Liam Bridcutt to be named the new club captain after Sol Bamba quit.
The Yorkshire giants announced on their website on Tuesday that Ivory Coast international Bamba would be leaving the club due to “personal reasons”.
There appear to be only a few genuine options for the Leeds captaincy, including the likes of midfielder Bridcutt and defender Liam Cooper.
Bridcutt joined the club on a permanent deal this summer from Sunderland, having spent the latter half of last season on loan at Elland Road.
He has slotted straight into the Leeds side as they struggle in the Championship and fans will hope he can form a strong relationship with new signing Eunan Okane in the centre of the park.
While some Leeds supporters have suggested Cooper, and fellow centre-back Kyle Bartley, there is overwhelming support that Scotland international Bridcutt should be given the role.
