Tony Xia has revealed that Gabby Agbonlahor is drinking in the last chance saloon after being welcomed back into the first-team fold.
Newly-appointed Villa boss Steve Bruce confirmed that he will offer the club’s longest serving player a clean slate, after he was left out of the first-team picture by former manager Roberto Di Matteo.
The 29-year-old striker has not appeared for the first-team since March, but has now been given a fresh chance to reclaim a first-team spot.
The club’s owner Xia has given his thoughts on the Agbonlahor situation, despite previously stating he has run out of chances, following his refusal to join Reading on deadline day.
Speaking on his personal Twitter account on Friday afternoon, the Chinese businessman said it was the “last chance” the forward would be given at Villa Park.
Agbonlahor has made a remarkable 370 appearances since bursting on the scene as a youngster, scoring 84 goals and supplying 55 assists.
But Villa are currently well stocked in the attacking department, with Jonathan Kodjia, Ross McCormack, Rudy Gestede and Jordan Ayew all vying for a starting role.
The Championship side host Wolves on Saturday evening, with the club’s former captain in with a chance of making a return to action.
