Tony Xia has revealed that Aston Villa are working on a staggering eight January transfer targets.
The Chinese businessman stated that it would be “great” if the Championship side could complete four of those potential deals.
Steve Bruce’s side are aiming to win promotion back to the Premier League this season and have tasked the promotion expert to help them achieve their goal.
Villa have already sold striker Rudy Gestede to Premier League side Middlesbrough this month, having spent over £50 million on transfers last summer.
The Midlands outfit broke the Championship record on two occasions when they purchased strikers Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia.
Now, owner Xia has delivered an update on the clubs on-going transfer plans as posted on his personal Twitter account.
Tottenham knocked Villa out of the FA Cup at the weekend when they were comprehensively beaten 2-0 at White Hart Lane.
In the Championship, they are seven points adrift of the play-off places heading into the weekend matches.
Bruce’s side lost their previous league encounter when they were beaten 1-0 by Welsh outfit Cardiff.
It means that Villa have won only two away matches this season as they are on their travels once again on Saturday evening.
This time they take on Midlands rivals Wolves where they will come up against former manager Paul Lambert.
