Tony Xia has told Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish to work hard and remain focused after his man-of-the-match performance against Rotherham on Saturday afternoon.

Grealish bagged his first goal at Villa Park, in front of the Holte-End as the Midlands side thrashed Rotherham 3-0 for their first win of the Championship season.

Villa’s new chief Xia has been very vocal on social media since his takeover of the club with constant updates and information about the club.

Xia has now advised the club’s academy product to stay away from any distractions after Grealish posted his delight to his first goal at Villa Park.

“Great work Jack Grealish,” Xia wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Keep working harder and be focused. I know your big dream one day will come true.”

Here is Grealish’s message to Villa supporters and Xia praising the player’s performance.

Grealish had a wretched 2015-16 campaign after his breakthrough season the previous year, with his progress affected by a disciplinary, form and fitness issues.

The versatile midfielder will be now looking to put in consistent performances for Roberto Di Matteo’s side, as he aims to help Villa earn a place back into the Premier League.

Di Matteo will be looking for back-to-back wins as Villa boss when he welcomes Huddersfield Town to Villa Park on Tuesday night.

In other Aston Villa team news, former striker Darrius Vassell has this message for the club’s longest serving player.
