Five Tottenham players have been ruled out of Thursday’s mouthwatering Europa League clash against Borussia Dortmund.
Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Danny Rose have joined long-term absentees Jan Vertonghen and Clinton N’jie in being unavailable for the first leg of the last-16 tie in Germany.
Alli is suspended, while Dier and Rose both sustained injuries in Spurs’ 2-2 Premier League draw against Arsenal last Saturday.
The absence of the trio, who have all been regulars in Mauricio Pochettino’s team this season, is a blow for the clash against high-flying Dortmund, who are second in the Bundesliga after narrowing the gap to leaders Bayern Munich to five points.

Football Insider revealed on Monday that Rose could be out for a month – and possibly even longer – with a calf injury sustained against Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Dier has made more Spurs appearances than any other player this season, with his record of 41 matches ahead of closest challengers Harry Kane (40) and Alli (39).
