The 27 year-old is regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League has developed an impressive partnership with fellow Belgian Jan Vertonghen.
Alderweireld has been out of action for over a month after picking up a knee injury during Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against West Brom October.
Spurs have struggled in his absence and have slipped down into fifth position in the league table and have not won a game in seven successive matches.
They remain unbeaten in the Premier League though and have one of the best defensive records as they have only let in seven goals this season.
The Hammers are currently in 17th place in the league and have shown progression in their last few fixtures despite making a poor start to the campaign.
