Tottenham young star Harry Winks has spoken of the time he was breaking into the senior team while Edgar Davids was also at the club.

The eccentric former Netherlands international would have drawn a lot of attention in the team for his personality as well as his world renowned reputation.

He particularly caught Winks’ eye and the current Spurs player has spoken of when the international star was “bossing” training.

“Yes, I do. I was about 15 or 16, it was around that time,” said Winks to the official club website when asked if he remembered his first time training with the senior team. “Previously I’d seen training a lot. I think Edgar Davids was here, he was training, I remember being a young lad at the time and I just couldn’t believe it – Edgar was quite experienced and I remember him literally just bossing training. He was something else!”

Davids, 43, joined Tottenham from Italian giants Inter Milan on a free transfer, where he played for a year and a half before rejoining Ajax.

He made 44 appearances for the club and was well watched having played for several of the worlds biggest clubs during his career, which includes Barcelona, AC Milan and Juventus.

Meanwhile, Winks’ career is just starting at 20 years old and he has made 11 appearances for Tottenham after making his debut in 2014 during a Europa League clash against Partizan.
