Tottenham are set to recall Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min to their starting XI against Monaco in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Spurs will travel to face the Ligue 1 side in France for the Group E clash and the attacking midfield duo are expected to return with Vincent Janssen and Harry Winks dropping out.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to resort back to a 4-2-3-1 formation instead of the diamond formation with two up front used during the 3-2 victory against West Ham on Saturday.
Both Alli and Son made appearances from the bench against the Hammers and the duo staked their claims to start against Monaco, as they helped to turn around a 2-1 scoreline in West Ham’s favour.
Meanwhile, striker Janssen is struggling for form following his move in the summer and it may be too much of a risk to play midfielder Winks given the importance of the Tuesday evening fixture.
The match will be Spurs’ penultimate fixture in the Champions League group stage with Pochettino’s team sat in third place and Monaco topping the group.
Looking to avoid an early exit the Argentine boss is likely to play his strongest line-up with Hugo Lloris continuing as the club’s number one behind a very solid back line.
In the back four Eric Dier will be expected to fill in for the injured Toby Alderweireld with Kyle Walker, Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose making up the other three positions.
They will be shielded by combative midfield duo Victor Wanyama and Moussa Dembele, with the former becoming an instant hit at the north London club following his summer move from Southampton.
Christian Eriksen is likely to line up in an attacking midfield three alongside Alli and Son and the Denmark international will be keen to improve on his recent poor form against Monaco.
Spurs were boosted by the return of star forward Harry Kane before the international break and he will be expected to retain his place as the club’s spearhead after scoring two goals at the weekend.
