Tottenham are keen on signing emerging England star Ademola Lookman before the transfer window closes, according to a report.

Lookman, 18, broke into the Charlton first-team last season and was named the Championship Apprentice of the Year.

The Mirror claim that Lookman is on the radar of a number of Premier League big guns, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Southampton joining Spurs in keeping a close eye on the teenage forward.

It is said that the top-flight quartet were among the clubs to send scouts to watch the teenager star in last month’s European Under-19 Championships.

Charlton protected their asset by tying Lookman, 18, to a first long-term deal in February of this year but that hasn’t stopped the big hitters from being willing to pay over £2million to sign him before 1 September.

Charlton were relegated from the Championship last season and could be ready to cash in on their prized asset as they look to readjust their finances for life in League One.

Lookman bagged a respectable five goals as well as one assist in his 24 Championship appearances last season.

The young forward was an unused substitute in Charlton’s 2-0 loss to Bury on Saturday, but has been mooted to follow former teammate Joe Gomez to the Premier League, with the defender joining Liverpool last summer for £3.5million.
