Mousa Dembele played 90 minutes against Leicester on Saturday – and the Tottenham supporters were disappointed with his performance on Twitter.

The Belgian midfielder has missed large parts of the season through suspension and injury, but has started the last two league matches.

Spurs recorded a 1-1 draw against the reigning Premier League champions at White Hart Lane and remain the only unbeaten side in the division.

The north London club are now fourth-placed in the table and three points behind Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has favoured a 4-1-4-1 formation in recent matches and played Dembele alongside Dele Alli in the midfield.

Spurs fans expressed their frustration with Dembele’s display and believe he is a shadow of the player that impressed last season.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Dembele, 29, has made 164 appearances for Spurs since joining from Fulham, scoring nine goals and supplying nine assists.

The central midfielder was a regular feature last season and helped the club to a third-placed finish in the Premier League.

He will hope to regain his place in the side and faces tough competition from summer arrival Victor Wanyama, who has become a regular under Pochettino.

In other Tottenham team news, Pochettino has explained the two things the club needs against Bayer Leverkusen.
