Vincent Janssen has been omitted from the Tottenham team that faces Bournemouth on Saturday – and fans on Twitter claim it is the correct decision.

Janssen has struggled to make a mark at White Hart Lane since his £18million summer move from AZ Alkmaar.

An ankle injury to Harry Kane last month has give him an extended opportunity to lead the attack but the Dutchman has scored only one goal in 12 matches for his new club.

For the second time in three Tottenham league matches, Heung-Min Son has been handed the spearhead role ahead of Janssen.

The 22-year-old takes his place on the substitute’s bench alongside Kieran Trippier and Moussa Sissoko, who are also omitted from the team that drew 0-0 against Bayer Leverkusen in midweek.

Spurs fans took to social media to give their verdicts on Janssen losing his starting place.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Third-placed Tottenham are currently unbeaten in the Premier League and have conceded just four goals in their opening eight fixtures.
