Erik Lamela played 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw against Bournemouth – and Tottenham fans were critical of his performance on Twitter.
Spurs recorded a goalless draw at the Vitality Stadium and missed the opportunity to go top of the Premier League.
Lamela, 24, went extremely close to scoring in the first-half as his shot rattled the crossbar.
The Argentinian midfielder could have been sent off for a second bookable offence on a couple of occasions, but managed to stay on the field in the fiery encounter.
The result leaves Spurs third in the table and a point adrift of new table toppers Arsenal, but they are still the only unbeaten side still in the division.
Spurs supporters voiced their anger on Twitter over Lamela and believe he struggled against Bournemouth.

So tame in the last third. I've been prattling on about the infuriating Lamela forever but he's Poch's pet. Mystifying #thfc

Lamela does as much as the other players, the only difference is he always tries to do something new and he loses possession 40% of the time

Taking Son and Alli off were poor decisions from Poch today. Lamela should have been whipped #THFC

Lamela has endured a mix start to the new season, scoring two goals and supplying six assists in his first 13 games.
The winger is a regular started under manager Mauricio Pochettino, but several fans feel he is too inconsistent.
He has now made 120 appearances for Spurs since his arrival in 2013 and scored 19 goals.
