Tottenham have announced their line-up that will face Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup – and Tottenham supporters have reacted to the team news on Twitter.

The club’s official Twitter account announced the team for the clash in Australia on Friday morning.

It inclues four youngsters in the starting line-up, Christian Eriksen as captain, as well as new signings Vincent Janssen and Victor Wanyama.

Many Spurs fans have reacted positively to Eriksen being made the club’s captain, while others wanted Marcus Edwards to start the match after an impressive display against Juventus on Tuesday.

The front four of Erik Lamela, Josh Onomah, Eriksen and Janssen has also got some fans of the north London club excited.

The club’s Euro 2016 stars received an extended rest break from manager Mauricio Pochettino, so the team is still without stars Hugo Lloris, Kevin Wimmer, Harry Kane, Kyle Waler, Danny Rose, Toby Alderweireld, Eric Dier and Dele Alli, while Jan Vertonghen is out injured, so the team is still far away than the one that will line-up against Everton, but there will still be some players fighting for a starting spot on the opening day in today’s starting line-up.

Here are a selection of the fans views on Twitter:

Mauricio Pochettino and his side will be looking to improve on their third place Premier League finish next season, while also remaining competitive in next season’s Champions League.

In other Tottenham team news, Christian Eriksen is confident Spurs will be even stronger this season.
