Kyle Walker has become the seventh Tottenham player in a fortnight to agree new terms at the club – and fans took to Twitter to express their delight at the club’s latest deal.

Spurs revealed on their official Twitter account on Friday morning that Walker had signed a new five-year deal.

The attacking full-back previously had three years left on his contract, but the north London club have been keen to tie up their stars to longer term deals in the opening weeks of the new campaign.

Walker, 26, has now joined Danny Rose, Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Christian Eriksen in committing his future to the club.

Young duo Tom Carroll and Harry Winks also agreed new deals with Mauricio Pochettino’s side last week.

Supporters on social media praised the latest new deal, while one fan named him the best right-back in the league.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Walker moved to White Hart Lane from Sheffield United in 2009 in a £9million combined move with Kyle Naughton.

The full-back was an integral part of Pochettino’s defence last season and he has picked up his form in the new campaign with two assist in six appearances, as well as making up an impressive back four.

In other Tottenham team news, Christian Eriksen has revealed that he let Vincent Janssen take the penalty in the EFL Cup win against Gillingham on Wednesday.
