Christian Eriksen is said to be demanding a new £150,000-a-week Tottenham contract – and their fans have reacted with shock on Twitter.

The Mirror claims that the 24-year-old has reached a contract stalemate with the north London club due to his sky-high wage demands.

It is said that Eriksen’s representatives are playing hardball with Tottenham by insisting on a deal that would double the wages of the club’s existing top earner Hugo Lloris.

It is claimed in the report that Spurs are hoping to extend the Denmark international’s £32,000-a-week contract, which still has two-years left to run, but he is holding out for a 370 per cent pay rise that would hand him a deal worth almost five times his current package.

On Twitter, most fans agree Eriksen deserves a wage rise, but say he is replaceable if he won’t agree on less than £150,000-a-week.
