Tottenham have omitted Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele from their team to face Monaco on Wednesday evening – and fans have criticised the decision on Twitter.
The move comes as Mauricio Pochettino makes one change from the side that beat Stoke 4-0 in the Premier League this weekend.
Erik Lamela has replaced Wanyama in the starting XI, as Demebele is forced to wait for his return to the Spurs first-team following a long-term absence through suspension.

Supporters on Twitter were annoyed at the decision not the play the pair, with one fan claiming he would rather die than see Dembele not starting for Tottenham.

The north London outfit are playing their first Champions League fixture in five years against Monaco on Wednesday evening.
The club last played in Europe’s elite football competition in 2011 and reached the quarter-final under then manager Harry Redknapp.
Tottenham will play all their Champions League home fixtures at Wembley this season as work is being carried out on their new stadium, reducing the current available seating capacity of White Hart Lane.
The move to England’s national home means they will break the record for the most attended European fixture in British history, after 90,000 tickets were sold for the clash.
