Tottenham fans are delighted on Twitter with new signing Victor Wanyama after he played an integral part in Tuesday night’s Champions League triumph.
The combative holding midfielder was in excellent form for the North London side, as they saw off Russian giants CSKA Moscow 1-0 thanks to Heung-Min Son’s second-half strike.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side kept a clean sheet against their Group E rivals, and a lot of that was down to the effort put in by the Kenya captain despite being on a yellow card from the 11th minute.
Spurs held firm in Russia despite a late onslaught by the Leonid Slutsky’s side, with Wanyama expertly marshalling the space between the Spurs defence and midfield.
Fans were impressed by their new signing, who has settled in well at White Hart Lane following his £11million move from Premier League side Southampton.
Here are a selection of their tweets:
Victor Wanyama was an absolute steal at £11m.

First win and strong away performance. Loving @VictorWanyama mopping up and N'Koudou causing havoc. Could still go far in this season's CL

Another player that as excellent was @VictorWanyama, he had a fantastic second half – CSKA couldn't get the ball past the Kenyan wall!

Given that he had to play 80 mins with a yellow card to his name, Wanyama's performance was impeccable. Shields the ball so well. #THFC

Former Celtic midfielder Wanyama has already endeared himself to Spurs fans after a string of impressive performances, as well as scoring the winner against Crystal Palace last month.
The win in Moscow was Spurs’ fourth consecutive win, after beating the likes of Middlesbrough, Gillingham and Sunderland.
Pochettino’s side will now be looking to make that five on Sunday, but will face a huge uphill task as they host Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
