Vincent Janssen scored his second Tottenham goal in their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday night – but fans on Twitter were not convinced by his performance.
The Spurs striker pulled a goal back for the visitors from the penalty spot in the second half of the League Cup clash at Anfield.
It was only Janssen’s second goal for the London giants since his summer move from AZ Alkmaar, but both of his strikes have come from penalties in the League Cup.
His performance paled in comparison with Liverpool duo Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge, who scored a double as they combined brilliantly to run the inexperienced Spurs backline ragged.
Spurs fans took to social media to give their verdicts on Janssen, with some claiming he will eventually come good while others are dissatisfied by his productivity.

Concerned by Janssen tonight, up against a 2nd choice defensive pairing and still looked toothless.
Should of got at them#COYS

It’s a learning curve for the young players. Would’ve liked to see more from GKN & Onomah, along with more service to Janssen. #COYS

Agree with Niall Quinn (& Gullitt before him) that Janssen needs to stay away from the ball a bit more & find space inside the box. #COYS

Janssen still a puzzle to me, too much with his back to the goal in a battle for possession rather than attacking. Improvement needed. #COYS

Vincent Janssen was not, is not and will not ever be good enough to play for Spurs #coys
