Harry Kane was left on the bench for England’s match against Scotland on Friday evening and Tottenham fans reacted with relief.
The 23-year-old forward returned to the Spurs team in their most recent fixture against Arsenal after a seven-week lay-off with an ankle injury.
He played 73 minutes of the north London derby, scoring a penalty, but it was noticeable that he didn’t have a lot of minutes under his belt with a number of heavy touches and stray passes.
Now, Spurs supporters on social media are glad that Kane isn’t starting with a number of fans keen to see him return from the international break unscathed.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

A half fit @HKane is still 10x better for the team than Sturridge. Don't care if Sturridge scores he's so negative for the team 😴💩

Tottenham will face London rivals West Ham at White Hart Lane after the international break.
They currently sit in fifth place in the Premier League table and remain the only unbeaten side after 11 fixtures with 21 points on the board.
They can move up to third place in the table with a victory over the hammers, leapfrogging rivals Arsenal and Manchester City if results go their way.
