Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to show their delight at Michel Vorm’s first-half performance in the match against Liverpool.

Spurs’ captain and number one goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is sidelined for up to four weeks after he picked up a hamstring injury against Everton in the first game of the season.

Vorm, 32, has replaced Lloris in the starting line-up and kept a clean sheet against Crystal Palace in the Premier League last weekend.

The Dutch goalkeeper made a number of key saves, including a close-range stop from Philippe Coutinho, when he seemed certain to score.

He couldn’t stop the first-half penalty though, scored by James Milner, that gave the Merseyside club a 1-0 lead.

Here’s a selection of Tweets from the Tottenham fans.

Vorm has seen his playing time reduced after moving to Tottenham in 2014 to provide cover for Lloris.

He made only seven appearances in all competitions last term, including a sole appearance in the Premier League.

Vorm made 97 appearances for Swansea following his arrival in 2011, but the 32-year-old now has the chance to make his mark more permanently for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

In other Tottenham team news, Jamie Redknapp delivered his verdict on Tottenham v Liverpool and predicted one team to have the edge.
