Tottenham supporters have hailed the team’s performance on Twitter in the 2-0 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side claimed victory after Aleksandar Kolarov put the ball into his own net before Dele Alli doubled the scoreline.

Argentina international Erik Lamela also missed a penalty in the second half.

Fans of the north London club praised the side’s display on social media with many hailing the whole team’s performance.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Tottenham have gone into the international break in second place and remain unbeaten in the league after seven fixtures.

They face Tony Pulis’ West Brom side at The Hawthorns next, who will provide a stern test with the Midlands club currently sat in 9th place in the league table.

Former Spurs attacker Nacer Chadli has started life under Pulis in impressive form scoring three league goals in his first three appearances for the club following his £13million move in the summer.

The last two times the clubs met they have battled to 1-1 draws with Tottenham unable to break down the tough defence set-up by Pulis.

However, Spurs are also looking to improve on their third place finish and will have their eyes firmly fixed on the now obtainable top place.
