Vincent Janssen led the Tottenham attack against West Brom on Saturday – and fans took to Twitter to applaud him on his hold up play but stated he needed to score goals.
The Holland international was brought in to start at the Hawthorns for the north London side with Harry Kane out with an ankle injury and Son Heung-min rested after international duty.
Janssen played the full 90 minutes during Spurs’ 1-1 draw against the Baggies.
Spurs fans took to social media to applaud Janssen on his all round play, but stated that he will be judged on goals and needs to start hitting the back of the net.
The Dutchman has scored only one goal in 11 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, which was a penalty against League One Gillingham.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Hold up play top class as usual from Janssen by that is not what he will be judged on and rightly so! I have faith but he needs goals! #THFC

Janssen's hold up play excellent so far. Lamela has to do better with those sort of chances #thfc

Janssen, 22, completed a move to White Hart Lane from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the summer for £17million.
He was initially brought in to act as backup to Kane, while also providing competition, but an injury to the England international has given Janssen an opportunity to showcase his talent’s in the first team.
Spurs are now sat in third place with 18 points after their opening eight fixtures in the Premier League.
In other Tottenham team news, fans reacted on Twitter to Eric Dier’s omission from the line-up against West Brom.
