Tottenham fans have requested that the club signs former Mauricio Pochettino star Morgan Schneiderlin, who is available in January.
The 27-year-old has struggled for game time at Manchester United this campaign and Jose Mourinho revealed on Friday that the France international had requested to leave, stating that he would not step in the player’s way if a suitable offer came in during the winter window.
“Yeah, he has. He’s a great professional,” Mourinho said to the Guardian.
“Fantastic boy, very honest, very open and he opened his heart a couple of times and my answer is simple: if he’s playing regular with me I have the right to say no way, if he’s not playing regular I have no right to tell a player that wants to be happy you’re going nowhere.
“If the offer is right and our board thinks the offer is a good offer in relation to a very good player like Morgan I would not stop him going.”
Premier League duo West Brom and Everton have been the most heavily linked to the defensive midfielder and the Baggies have even reportedly placed a £15million bid for Schneiderlin.
However, Spurs supporters have stated on social media that they would like to see the former Southampton star line-up at White Hart Lane with former team-mate Victor Wanyama.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
I would like to see Schneiderlin under poch again. Could be instrumental at top form in place for a struggling dembele possibly.

If Dembele isn't able to hit the heights of last season/keep fit, Schneiderlin next to Dier would be immense. https://t.co/DGLxgk4H2f

So Schneiderlin is available…Surely Poch is interested right? #COYS

@spudly77 What are you talking about mate. Pochettino would sit dembele and start Wanyama Schneiderlin in a heartbeat.

I'd definitely try and get Schneiderlin to Spurs. Regardless of who've we've got in Midfield he'd improve us imo.

Look, I know Spurs spending in January isn't really a thing but we're really missing an opportunity here if we don't at least try for Schn. https://t.co/usoYDBZwGj

Schneiderlin was the star of Southampton under Pochettino, being named the club’s player of the season in his first few months in charge.
He proved it wasn’t a one off too with top performances in his next two years before eventually completing a £27million move to league giants Manchester United in the summer of 2015.
However, with just eight appearances for the famous club under Mourinho he will now be keen to earn more playing time with the 2018 World Cup on the horizon.
