Tottenham fans were less than impressed with the performance of Moussa Sissoko during Thursday night’s 1-0 defeat to Gent in the Europa League.
Supporters took to Twitter after the game to express their anger at the 27-year-old’s poor outing in a game that Spurs should really have won without too much difficulty.
Sissoko was a summer transfer deadline day signing at White Hart Lane and cost the club a huge £30million, but didn’t live up to his price tag in a dour game.
Jeremy Perbet scored the only goal in the game as the Belgian club gave themselves a good platform for qualification in the second leg at Wembley next week.
Mauricio Pochettino took Sissoko off in the 71st minute for Georges N’Koudou, but the young attacker couldn’t inspire a comeback and deliver the crucial away goal.
Here is a selection of tweets from Spurs fans about Sissoko’s performance:

How on earth did Sissoko manage to play for 70 mins? SEVENTY MINS! I honestly thought Poch could turn him into a decent player. LOL. #THFC

@hotspurjp I'm sure Sissoko is on decent wages, he's just not good enough.

In the other match involving Premier League interest in the Europa League, Manchester United acquitted themselves better, beating St Etienne 3-0 courtesy of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic hat-trick.
Spurs fans will be hoping that Mauricio Pochettino can inspire a comeback in the second leg. They’re 10 points behind Chelsea in the Premier League and play Fulham next in the FA Cup on Sunday.
If they’re not careful their season could be effectively over by the time they play Stoke in the Premier league on Sunday week.
In other Tottenham news, Mauricio Pochettino has responded to speculation linking him to Barcelona.
