Tottenham have launched a bid to sign Croatian wonderkid Ante Coric, according to a report.

Croatian newspaper SN claim Spurs have earmarked a £10million bid for the 19-year-old attacking midfielder.

It is said Spurs have watched Coric recently as they look at young players who can fit into Maurcio Pochettino’s style of play.

The Argentine wants players who can maintain a high level of intensity while performing actions in tight spaces and Coric has been identified as a hard-working player who can unlock defences in tight spaces.

He has been likened in Croatia to David Silva and was a key member of Dinamo Zagreb’s title-winning team this season.

The teenager, who is a regular for Croatia Under-21s, made 41 appearances for Dinamo this season, scoring five goals and supplying six assists from his central playmaking role.

The Croatian club accept they face a battle to hand on to the youngster and their bid to drive up the price is helped by competing interest from Liverpool.

SN claim the Merseyside giants could be willing to trump Tottenham and pay £11.4million for Coric, who is contracted to Dinamo until 2020.

In other Tottenham transfer news, the club jetted out on a £30million mission last weekend as they stepped up their pursuit of a priority target.
