The Bundesliga has selected Tottenham and Schalke midfielder Nabil Bentaleb in their team of the week.

The 21-year-old got on the score sheet as he played a key role in his side’s 1-1 draw with Augsburg on Saturday.

In the Bundesliga’s regular team of the week feature on their official Twitter account the best players from the German’s top flight weekend round of fixtures are selected.

The Algeria international put his side ahead with a strike on the 65th minute.

However, midfielder Daniel Baier equalised for his Augsburg team on the 78th minute, which also rounded up the scoring.

Bentaleb completed a loan move to the Bundesliga giants in the summer until the end of the season.

He has featured regularly for the side, playing all seven of their league fixtures and two Europa League clashes since joining.

However, the seven-time league winners have struggled in the new campaign as they currently sit in the relegation spots with just four points from their opening encounters.

It also looks unlikely that Bentaleb will get improved game time when he does eventually return to Tottenham.

The north London club brought in midfielder Victor Wanyama in the summer, who has started his career at White Hart Lane in impressive form, while also boasting Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele in  the defensive midfield roles.

In other Tottenham news, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender has said that his side know the strengths of Spurs attacker and former team-mate Son Heung-min.
